Weeknotes: September 11, 2026.

What was good
- This week has been much better in the meeting realm. More and larger chunks of focus time allowed me to dive into some heady projects. Feels great to just be doing stuff.
- SO and I have been diving deep into building design patterns for our products’ system emails. It’s a chunky project but one we’re really excited about. We had a 75-minute together session over zoom to explore organizational structures of the patterns themselves—what our approach was going to be, scalability, explosion. I think we identified a path forward, and we’ve been doing async work to experiment and figure out the actual component and component set builds. Our brains have melted.
What was hard
- This email design pattern library project is one of the more challenging projects I’ve worked on. But it’s all in a good way. The challenge is welcoming. My brain is getting a workout.
What I’m looking forward to next week
- Continuing the email design patterns and, hopefully, getting into a better groove. Less trial and error with the components and more builds with confidence.
- Continuing the design library documentation work I started this week. We’re doing lots of enhancements in this area and this is also a heady project that’s flexing my brain.
