Weeknotes: August 28, 2026.

What was good
- Aligned with a content designer, I’ll refer to her as SK, on a Claude skill project I delegated to her. There was some confusion at first but that seems to be cleared up. The confusion came about from two similar projects that she was working—one for her product area and the other one for me. They’re somewhat similar but the purpose and approach are distinct. All that to say, her instincts are there and she got quite a bit of good feedback during this week’s content design crit.
- SO and I kicked off the next phase of an email project. Feels good to take a breather from last week’s quick turnaround deliverable to starting the next bit which has a longer runway.
- Discussed a possible new schema for a Claude skill that’s built into our plugin structure. The scheme looks to add friction—in a good way—so that the person using the skill pauses and thinks more about what it is they’re trying to do. (I’m keeping the skill details vague for a reason.)
What was hard
- The first bit of the week was peppered with meetings, which left me feeling skeptical about the rest of the week. Luckily, the end of the week was light. Still exhausted.
What I’m looking forward to next week
- The content designers are hosting a guest speaker during one of our meetings. I invited this speaker to speak with the team about his team, their work, and the architectural setup they’re implementing that informs/instructs our software’s AI assistant. This should be a great session, and it’ll give the content designer a look at the behind-the-scenes of how assistants are architected, and where we, as content designers, can support the work.
